howdy,
i'm alice

I’m an interdisciplinary designer and Cool Person based in Houston, Texas, where I was born and raised (minus a 3 year stint in China). I’m passionate about fostering human connections, learning, having fun, and leaving the world a little better than I found it. Co-design is foundational to how I approach both my work and life. It’s a skill I’ve honed as a graduate student at UT Austin’s MA in Health Focused on Health program, and one I continuously put into action as Innovation Design Extern at MD Anderson Cancer Cencer, where I collaborate with a wide range of innovators, providers, patients, and cross-functional teams to create better healthcare experiences and outcomes. After all, the most meaningful solutions are made with people, not just for them. When I’m not at my desk, you can usually find me spending time with loved ones, reading fiction on carpeted floors, convincing my cat to love me back, or pondering which everyday frictions should be designed away and which are actually opportunities for meaningful human interaction.

more about me

Scattered across this page are some of my other works, projects, hobbies, as well as snippets into my life and philosophy! It's also a fairly accurate depiction of what my desk looks like at all times...

“I just wanted to be happy, but sometimes your own happiness comes at the expense of other people’s, doesn’t it? It’s hard to balance being both happy and considerate. I often tried to be both by lying, but that usually made it worse.” -Emily Austin, We Could be Rats
